The journal does not charge any fee for manuscript submission, editorial processing, peer review, acceptance, or publication. Authors are not required to pay any APC or publication fee at any stage of the editorial and publication process.

The absence of publication charges ensures that editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope, without any financial influence. All manuscripts are evaluated through the journal’s established double-blind peer review process and are subject to the same scholarly and ethical standards regardless of the authors’ institutional affiliation, nationality, or funding status.

Specifically, the journal does not levy charges for:

  • Initial editorial assessment;

  • Peer review and reviewer evaluation;

  • Editorial processing and copyediting;

  • Acceptance of articles;

  • Online publication of accepted articles;

  • Assignment of publication metadata and indexing preparation;

  • Access to published articles through the journal platform.

Authors remain responsible only for ensuring that their manuscripts comply with the journal’s formatting, citation, ethical, and copyright requirements. The journal does not request payment for expedited review, guaranteed acceptance, or priority publication.

Any communication requesting payment for publication on behalf of Revue Française d'Histoire du Livre should be treated with caution and reported directly to the journal’s editorial office through the official website rfhl.fr.
